Macrolane

Macrolane is a hyaluronique acid, it’s proposed by the Q Med medical laboratory as an alternative to breastimplants. This product will be soon authorized in France for the following indications:
 To correct mammary prosthesis’s folds or waves especially in breast reconstruction after a breast cancer

for patients with irregularities in the contour of their natural breasts (without implant)

For patients desiring a very small increasing (60 to 100g) without breast implants

Moderate increase in the volume of buttocks,

Indications repairs: filling of depression, scars .....

Advantages:

Short hospitalization with a shorter recovery time after surgery,

No general anesthesia but sedation advised,

 This product is resorbable, therefore return to the initial situation

Disadvantages:

resorbable product on average between 18 and 24 months (according the laboratory)

High cost of the product (between 120 to 180 €/ syringe 10 ml)

Increased volume very low (average: 60 to 100 g / breast)
